CPS common utils

I have just received a module with an associated change proposal partner that needs changes installed.

I receive the following error when trying to apply a change using the change proposal system:
"Unexpected error when accessing attribute and object data: -R-E-DXL-<standard/cps/cps_commmon_utils.inc:2603> null attribute definition parameter was passed into argument position 1."

Since cps_commmon_utils.inc is binary, I cannot determine which attribute is at fault. Please help interpret this error.

That error would probably have a trace behind it so we could track it down to some unencrypted code. I would guess, however, its possible you could get that error if the CPS module was configured differently than the original Requirements module, such as if you configured an attribute for CPS then deleted it. That is, proposing a change to attr X and then deleting X from the requirements module.

Its very hard to send a module and its CPS partner, CPS does not lend itself to being archived and restored well.

If you found a way to archive the Source module, CPS partner, and the CPS link module in a Project and then restored it then it would work, but only for a project with those 3 mdoules. If you then tried to merge it into an existing Project, then I supposed you would need to: Move the Requirement module; Move the CPS Partner; Find some Copy-Links utility to copy the existing links into the target project's CPS links module; delete/purge the restored Link Module with CPS partner open Edit, then save it. Of course, that's all hypothetical for fear of violating some service agreement.

If you are recieving individual module Archives of the Requiement and the CPS Partner, then you'd need to write some utility to link up the CPS partner to the Source, based on the Object Identifier you find inside the CPs Object Text; inside the CPS link module.

Dealing with CPS groups and multi-effective CPs would be a nightmare.
